Story
I am running the Manchester 10k to raise funds for Teddy Jeary and the research of Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome by the SDS Foundation.
Teddy is the wonderful son of my friends Anna and Paul Jeary. He is a happy, playful and determined little boy, with a charming smile and an amazing Mum and Dad.
Since birth Teddy has had multiple complications with feeding, growth and many other symptoms, which ultimately resulted in him being diagnosed with Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (SDS).
SDS is a very rare condition that can affect the digestive system, bone marrow, pancreas and more. For this reason, not many physicians are knowledgeable about it.
Government funding for research has dwindled. And even more so for diseases involving smaller groups of patients. Therefore, the generosity of our families and supporters must be relied on to continue the pursuit of better treatments and an ultimate cure for SDS.

6 years agoI completed my last training run last night, only 3 days to go now! On behalf of Anna and Paul Jeary, myself and of course Teddy we have been absolutely bowled over by your incredibly generous support, both the financial aspect and your encouraging words. We can't thank you enough for this! At the outset we had fairly pragmatic goals of what we wanted to achieve. But we also discussed what would be our wildest and loftiest achievements. I am overwhelmed and so happy so say we surpassed these with flying colours! Again, thank you so much Tom
