I am running the Brighton marathon in order to raise money for the rescued dogs at Barley Kennels, the Harlow branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust. I got my lovely hound Amy from here, and so I will be always grateful to them for putting us together.

Their main function is to provide the best care for the greyhounds after their racing career has ended and to find the greyhounds the right family home so that they can lead a happy and full life.

They are also providing a permanent home for Frank, a 2 year old greyhound who is EXTREMELY nervous. He has been there for around 6 months now and is finally beginning to trust them so for his own safety they will keep him there and work with him to help with his fears and insecurity.

It costs approximately £100 per month to look after each dog while they are in the kennels, and at any time there can be around 30 dogs there, so it would be lovely if we could make a small contribution to the food bill.
