The earthquake which hit Nepal in April 2015 was devastating, we've all read the heartbreaking stories and horrifying statistics; never did I think that I would get the chance to visit the country affected and to contribute to the rebuilding process.
To that end, on March 8th 2017, myself and group of twenty four friends are travelling to Nepal in the hopde of reaching the summit of Kala Phattar.
In conjunction with the charity Maiti Nepal and Westbury Lions we hope to raise as much money as we possibly can to help the families affected by the natural disaster which struck nearly two years ago.

My reasons for travelling are not entirely altruistic, this is a rare opportunity to visit an icon location, encounter an entirely different culture with strange and wonderful new sights, sounds, smells and a way of life which is far removed from anything I have ever experienced.
Although not a holiday, this is the trip of a lifetime – I am exhilarated by the mountain and the challenges ahead and I am really looking forward to sharing the experience with a great team.

Additionally, after losing my mother to cancer in September 2013 I would to say a big thank you to the nurses and volunteers at Dorothy House Hospice. Their love, care and support for both my mother and those she left behind was invaluable.
A proportion of the monies raised will be donated in way of a thank you.
