Story
Hi All,
We have had to open a second page as the first closed out after 120 days. All previous donations... a staggering £1,240 have been passed to Matt Drake and to Save Our Soldier (previous donations can be found at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/thankyouroyals1)
Well, we said never again after Nevis, but here we go! We are back in training for an even bigger challenge this year and will be taking on a 20 mile trek over 4 peaks in Brecon on 26th August.
We couldn’t have got through Nevis last year without the help, support and guidance of two very special Royal Marines; as such this year we are trekking for one of the RM community, Matthew Drake and his family. Unfortunately Matthew had a serious accident in December which has resulted in paralysis; in typical Marine style Matthew is being insanely brave and is working hard towards getting out of hospital and home. We would love to assist with the funds needed to adapt his home ready for his return and will be donating 50% of everything that we raise directly to Cpl Drake.
We will also be donating the remaining portion of funds raised to Save our Soldier charity. This remarkable charity provides invaluable support to combatants returning from war and aims to help those suffering with PTSI. They provide an incredible service, tackling 'the silent bullet' and working tirelessly to alleviate the stigma associated with PTSI.
Our trip is self-funded with all proceeds going directly to Matthew and to the Save our Soldier charity. We will all be thinking of Matthew alongside all of our service personnel struggling with PTSI constantly during the challenge. Their bravery and inspiration will most definitely get us over those hills.
Thank you so much in advance for anything that you can spare.
Sammy, Annie, Steph, Kate, Emma & Ella
