Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
So, The Mall have arranged for staff members, family and friends to take part in a charity sky dive on Sunday 19th August and raise much needed funds for our Mall Cares Charity of the year Theo's Warriors.
The story behind the Mall’s charity of the year - Theo’s Warriors (charity registration number 1169805) Theo’s Warriors are a registered charity that supports children and their families (within the UK) through their cancer diagnosis and beyond.
Neuroblastoma is a rare cancer. Only 100 children within the UK are diagnosed with the disease every year. In most Neuroblastoma cases, by the time it is found it has already spread to nearby tissue and bones. Meaning a lot of children are already stage 4 when the cancer is found. It is a silent killer and survival rates for this particular childhood cancer are low.
Theo’s Warriors have experienced first-hand the need for support for these children going through gruelling chemotherapy and their families affected by this awful disease, including the financial burden of long hospital stays, long periods away from work in addition and making memories with the poorly child and other siblings.
Family days out in between treatment are special and that making memories are even more important than they ever were before.
Theo’s family set up Theo's Warriors to ease the financial burden a cancer diagnosis brings, to provide emotional support for those affected by a Neuroblastoma diagnosis. They want to make a child smile- even if that's just for one of those horrible days.
We know that every day matters and if we can make a child happy for at least one of those days, then that's one day less cancer has taken away. Theo’s Warriors rely heavily on supporters who want to make a difference to a child suffering and we need your help through fundraising, donations and media awareness. The Neuroblastoma journey is one of toughest these families will ever have to face. There just isn't enough support out there.
