£307raised of £2,100 target by 14 supporters

Weʼre raising £2,100 to help our 6 amazing SNDBT athletes on their way to represent team GB at the 13th Annual European Dragon Boat Championships in Germany.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

2018 is an amazing and exciting year for the paddlers of St Neots Dragon Boat Team, for starters this great sports team will be celebrating its 21st anniversary. Which is a real achievement, but that is not why we are asking for your help.

6 of our paddlers have dedicated the last year of their lives, travelling the length and width of England almost every weekend to train, pushing themselves both physically and mentally in pursuit of their dreams. That dream is to win a spot in their respective Great Britain National Squads.

Well, we are delighted to announce that the dedication has been fruitful and the 6 have won their squad positions, so they will be travelling to Brandenburg in Germany at the end of August to represent not just our country, but our team, SNDBT and more importantly our home town of St Neots.

These awe inspiring individuals are:

SNDBT team captain and coach
Rachel Elliott, 27 for GB Prems.

SNDBT Spartans and current national u18 champions for the GB under 18s: Taylor Fernie, 15, Erin Hall, 15 and Molly Power, 14.

Matthew Power, 42 and Troy Cowdrey, 45 for the GB seniors.

So..... why are we asking for your help? Dragon Boating, at every level, even as an international representative, is totally self funded. Travelling and training costs, team kit even entry fees to the event itself are covered by the individual. It's costly too, very costly. An expectation would be £1700 per person, and there is no access to government sport funding as of yet, so it means the guys are responsible for funding themselves

Our guys have been working hard to do just that, get the funds together themselves and just need a little lift to help them on their way. They've undertaken additional work and run fund raising events.

We'd like to raise £350 per paddler, it'll go along way to help the guys out! The 6 are collectively going to split whatever is raised equally amongst each other. Any thing you can contribute will be truly appreciated.

I am Dan Clarke, I one of the founding members, the manager, a coach and a paddler for this amazing team that was established 21 years ago in 1997. I've dedicated half my life to the sport, met my wife through it and couldn't imagine a life without it. Sad really eh?!
