You may well have used the Limes before – we’ve been there for you – will you be there for us?
The Limes needs urgent funds to plug a short term but immediate financial hole. There is hope on the horizon but we are unlikely to survive without a cash injection now. Can you, or someone you know, help us?
What children need
Disabled and non-disabled all need a place to play. It is a shocking reality that disabled children are often isolated and deprived of this right. Young people need to mix in diverse settings and understand & respect each other’s differences and many similarities.
What we do
Most of you will be aware of what we do. The Limes celebrates diversity and nurtures the potential of all children and young people.
We work hard to engage the disabled and the non-disabled. We are passionate about inclusion & support children & young people who are our future.
Working with over 900 children,we support them to have a voice & to take part in the community to be heard and to become valued citizens.
The community uses our ever popular pre-school sessions where parents can meet, make new friendships and support each other.
What we need
Despite these achievements, like most small charities we struggle to survive. We have worked tirelessly to diversify our funding sources. Funders love our ideas and have supported many excellent projects. But they are less keen to finance the core of our operation; the money that keeps us running and able to continue our innovative project work. And here is the problem. There is currently a £20k hole in our core funding budget. We have many great applications submitted and are confident that they will bring in the money we need to keep going. But with the outcomes not revealed until early next year, we have a perilous three-month gap to fill.
