We are looking for help to raise money so we can challenge ourselves to row round the coast of Great Britain! We are looking to take part in the ‘GB Row 2022’ but to do this we need to raise money. This money will help towards the cost of an ocean rowing boat, which we will need to get us round safely! This wonderful piece of kit will enable us to train and will be our home for the entire journey!

This challenge will see us row a gruelling 2000 miles supported only by a land crew for safety. We will set off from Tower Bridge and although the coastline will be a constant companion, we will not set foot on land again until we arrive back at Tower Bridge.

We will be at the mercy of mother nature as we battle against the waves and the weather! We will be avoiding rocks and sandbanks, traversing some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world whilst battling the tides, currents and exhaustion! All the while we will be rowing punishing shifts of two hours, which will see us at the oars for two hours and resting for two hours....I would say sleeping, but in this rest time we will be eating, maintaining the boat (including plunging into the water to clean the bottom of the boat...no one likes barnacles on your bottom!) and comfort stops (the bucket!).

We want to do this so we can raise the serious issues of plastics in our waters and as part of the challenge samples will be recorded throughout. We also want to challenge the norm, to inspire and educate! If we can inspire just one person to follow a dream, regardless of the sacrifice and hardship to achieve it then that will be an incredible legacy! We are three ordinary women from Norfolk who want to do something extraordinary. We want to make others realise that a dream can become reality, it just takes dogged determination!

We need the boat to get us to the start line....we will show the grit and determination to get to the end! But we need to do it as safely as possible, with all the equipment we will need along the way!
