Cancer has an unimaginable physical and mental impact on the patient and their family. Treatment can be tough and patients don't always have family around them to provide support. Hospital stays can be very expensive, causing unnecessary worry at an already difficult time and often patients must give up work as they are too sick to continue. We would like to put together care packages that will help blood cancer patients with the financial burden and the practicalities of being in hospital.

In November 2015 at the age of 53, our beloved husband, dad and grandad, Ralph Jones sadly lost his four year battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. Ralph spent long periods of time in hospital undergoing treatment. During a stay at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Ralph was given a care package from a local charity. Ralph was deeply touched by this thoughtful gesture, it really meant a lot to him. We were inspired to do something like this for the patients in our local hospital.

To honour the memory of Ralph, we would like to visit the Haematology ward at Whiston hospital with our care packages on a yearly basis, on the anniversary of his death.

This cause is very close to our hearts.
A gesture that goes directly to the patient.
We hope that the patients will take comfort in the knowledge that we are thinking about them.

The money will be used to put together care packages containing useful items such as...... Television cards, Food and drink vouchers, WHSmith vouchers, Lip Balm, Moisturiser and toiletries.
Contents will depend upon the amount raised but our aim is to provide packages with a value of at least £50 each.
