What is The Red Box Project?
The Red Box Project Bury is a community led scheme coordinated by myself and by human community kindness to provide free sanitary wear to young women, ensuring that they do not miss out on their education because they have their period.
How we help schools?
We know that schools already do what they can in this area. We want to step up as a community to give schools the peace of mind that stocks will never run out and enable them to support disadvantaged young women throughout their period.
Your donations will help to fund:
- the actual red box to be placed in schools
- sanitary products
- knickers
- plain bags
- posters
- collection boxes.
No tearful panics in the loo. No wadded up toilet roll. No anxious embarrassment. No missed lessons or staying home. This is a very simple, no frills project and is entirely funded by community kindness, woman to young woman. We believe that a young woman’s education shapes her future and her dignity is our responsibility.

6 years agoThank you so much to everybody who has donated. We have raised £380 since the start of the year. This is an incredible amount of money. The money is used to buy red boxes, kindness badges to help raise more funds, cover printing costs and top up donations. I never thought this would be all possible at the start of the year. Thank you to everybody who has helped.

6 years agoTo date.. We have put red boxes in to two local schools with a third and fourth one on their way. We have 7 drop off points across the borough with two more in the pipeline. Your kindness and generosity has helped the project achieve so much. . Thank you. Lisa - The Red Box Project Bury
