Hiya Folks,

As most of you know, People United for Banton have received 95% of the money needed to buy The Swan Inn from The Scottish Land Fund after it was feared that the pub was going to close.

The pub has a long history and is a special landmark in the village. For over 170 years it has opened it's doors and served Banton & the surrounding communities. How many of us have great memories that are all Swan made. We just couldn't imagine the village without the pub and thanks to a group of amazing locals who go by the name of People United for Banton, the Swan Inn has a great new future.

In the coming year the Swan will see major changes. Funding from the National Lottery will help to create a café/restaurant, a shop, a community room and of course, the bar, where you will still be able to enjoy a pint after a wee walk round the dam!

The committee of People United for Banton are now in a position to raise funds for the pub and I am asking all of you for some help with this. To cover the remaining 5%, they have to raise a further £10,000 by the 20th June.

They have a fund raising target of £3,000 and although it’s a tall order, I know we can pull together to raise the other £7,000!!

Like me, many of you here and abroad have so much affection for the old pub. I'm hoping you can help & contribute to her Purchase. We want to see this old pub thrive and be there for future generations. Your help is greatly appreciated.
