This October myself and my family will be running the Cardiff Half marathon in aid of the Welsh Blood Service. My Dad, Aunty, Matt and I will be running in Cardiff and Caitlin, determined not to let the team down, will be away at uni so will be complete the 13 miles on a treadmill.

As many of you know we lost our amazing Dad/Gramps very suddenly last December. He was extremely fit, still training in the gym 3 times a week before he passed. He loved keeping fit and hearing about our training and fitness plans, so running the half seemed like the perfect tribute. Honestly, if he were still with us I think he would be running it too (or at least giving it a good go!)

My Grampa donated blood for over 50 years and I wouldn't even like to hazard a guess to how many lives he saved. This is why we are running for the Welsh Blood Service and donating the money in his name.

None of us are runners and I think after starting the training we have just realised how difficult this is actually going to be. That being said we definitely have the best inspiration to keep us going!
