Monies raised will help support an exciting new Fashion Project, 'Fashionability' for girls and young women with disabilities.

The project aims to:

Provide term-time sessions and activities during the school holidays.

Create a network of support systems to assist in preventing and managing poor mental health.

Create regular group interaction between members to assist in tackling loneliness.

Provide volunteering opportunities to help members grow in confidence and learn new skills whilst gaining employability skills.

Create sustainable projects by making the most of our current connections and creating new collaborative links with local businesses and community groups.

Our 'Fashionability' project will include trips to Madame Tussauds, V&A Museum Diva Exhibition, and Kensington Palace Crown to Couture, plus workshops: sustainable fashion, hat designs (empowering slogans), fashion cultures, design a football kit (Women's World Cup/This Girl's Ability FC), Intergenerational work with local community groups to talk about popular fashion trends through the decades and fashion photography.

We will showcase the young people's work at Barking & Dagenham's International Day of Disabled Persons (IDDP) event. IDDP is celebrated worldwide on December 3rd each year, and the event in B&D is a day of community-led content. The This Girl's Ability members will be encouraged to plan and present a 'Fashionability' runway!

By supporting this campaign, your donation will help This Girl’s Ability provide opportunities for disabled girls and young women in East London. We aim to empower members, encourage meaningful friendships, and enhance physical and mental well-being through leisure and social activities.

Thank you for your support!
