Our dear friend 'Will' had an accident and badly broke his neck on Saturday morning. He landed badly after a fall and fell unconscious and lost feeling in both legs and arms. An ambulance arrived an hour later and he was taken to Hospital where an x-ray showed a severe break. The doctors can hardly believe that he can still move his legs and arms. Usually a 50% break has serious neurological implications Will has a 100% break… The last few days have been a rollercoaster of emotions and we're all pretty exhausted. Will has been undergoing something called 'Traction' the past few days, which is a medieval device screwed into his skull with weights being applied to try and pull on his spine, I was there when this happened and it's about as pleasant as it sounds. This part of the operation has been only slightly successful due to fragments of bone getting in the way and with Will drifting in and out of consciousness on Morphine. It has been decided that surgery is the only option and this is a one-track path. His beautiful wife 'Lorna' has been at his bed, their children (1 and 4 blissfully unaware what's happening to daddy) and friends and family have been doing all they can. It is obviously a tricky time and hence we thought to try and raise a smallish amount of money to help things now and during recovery.
