My uncle John Gavin, for ten years, has been battling a type of skin cancer. the metastatic melonoma he was diagnosed with hasnt stopped him from being the fun loving, big hearted, family man that we all know and love! However, it has been debilitating and often relentless. John has tried many ways to combat his illness, with some degrees of success; some of the treatments hes tried have been foy enough to be used by the NHS to help future sufferers. Still, despite these triumphs, there is a still a long way to go. In order to keep john with us, the family and his friends are needing to raise £20000 to fund his last resort treatment-a form of immunotherapy which isnt available on the scottish NHS free of charge.

Efforts from family and friends has been indescribable. And i am pleased to say we are on almost £15,000. 3/4 of our way there. But theres still a lot to go. So following in the footsteps of ali (johns son) and his friends and john himself shaving their heads and my brother Robert who drove to all 32 football premiership grounds, from north of Inverness down to Brighton, in just over 48 hours, its my turn to stick my oar in......

On the 9th of september i will be waxing my legs in Bury town centre to help raise the £5000 left needed. those people who live in Bury can come to debenhams and see the drama unfold. There will be music on, a raffle, demonstrations from the cosmetics ladies and nibbles. So please, please, please dig deep and support this cause.
