Thrapston Dreamers is a FREE performing arts group for children aged 5 upwards. We rehearse together to put on 2 shows a year and rely on the support of the local community and businesses for funding. We are hoping to raise enough funds to buy some new sound equipment and microphones so that our Dreamers can be heard by the wonderful audiences who come to support us. Due to a change in venue, we no longer have free access to the headset microphones that we have previously used and are seeking donations to help us provide these for our Dreamers. There is nothing better than hearing a one liner delivered by a 9 year old that brings the house down, or to hear an 11 year old show how much confidence they have gained by standing on the stage and singing – solo! Without these no-one would have heard our narrators set the scene, or our prince promise his true love……
The funds that we raise from the shows plus local sponsorships are already ploughed back into our normal running costs – costs for the venue, the script rights, the scenery, the costumes – and there just isn’t enough left over. To allow us to produce the shows, Dreamers meets twice a week and is now supported by a team of adults, mostly parents of Dreamers who give up their time freely, and enjoy being a part of it as much as the kids.
