Tilly is a much beloved fur baby, who has been going through a tough time since December when she was diagnosed with Diabetes, sadly insulin has not been effective and she has now also been diagnosed with Acromegaly, a tumor on her pituitory gland which is stopping the insulin from working. Meaning surgery to remove the tumor is Tilly's only chance for a future.

Despite constant veterinary guidance Tilly has been slowly deteriorating whilst her diabetes remains uncontrolled, with three varieties of insulin being tried prior to the acgomegaly diagnosis.

With Tilly's veterinary and treatment costs to date draining the reserves we had, we were still looking good to just about raise or borrow the £6,000-£7,000 required for the operation, until Saturday when another of our clan, Patsy, became seriously ill and although being admitted and receiving intensive treatment passed away...however the costs of Patsy's treatment, c£1,700 have further depleted the funds available for Tilly's operation, leaving us short and Tilly's future now looking uncertain.

Due to the very rare nature of her illness it is intended to take place at the Queen Mother Animal Hospital, a branch of the Royal Veterinary College, which is one of the few places in the UK that the op can be performed. The post operative prognosis is good with around 80% entering diabetic remission and some others becoming responsive to insulin afterwards.

Any help that can be given to make Tilly's operation possible would be amazing, with the prospect of losing another member of our family in such a short space of time is too difficult to face.
