My family had a tragic house fire and have lost everything.

My father was alone at home when he was startled out of his sleep to a big explosion around 2am on the night of 12th May.
He had just enough time to escape from the flames and call the fire brigade.
My mother was at work and rushed home at the news.
By the time the fire brigade arrived the house and its content was completely destroyed. Nothing was left, all they had is the clothes they were wearing.

My father said: “I jumped out of the bed and saw the upper level in flames. Shortly after there was a rumble and I saw the roof falling.”

According to the fire brigade the fire was caused by an electrical fault somewhere in the walls.

My parents have been moved to a temporary home which was completely empty with no furniture, etc. We have self-funded the necessary furnishings and clothes.

The most difficult part lies ahead, rebuilding the house and a life again.

We have also been battling with the insurance company who will not pay enough to rebuild the house.

I would have never thought that one day myself and my family would have to deal with such a tragic accident.

I am doing this for my parents to try and raise funds to help them deal with the huge costs and to try to help them to rebuild their life again. All they have worked so hard for has been lost.

I am grateful that my parents are alive and know that one day things will be normal again.
