Story
The North Highland Way was started by a group of enthusiastic businessmen in the north of Scotland. To date, we have been unable to access public funds, and appeal to everyone who has an interest in the Way being developed to help raise the money we need. We have to start somewhere, so lets start here.

5 months agoWe hope to be part of the Beach of Dreams project in 2025. We need to raise £175+ VAT for the banners. We would like to nominate the beach as Farr Beach on the north coast. Please give generously so we can raise the money for the banners. Do not leave it too long! https://beachofdreams.org/

7 months agoWe have a return ticket from Scrabster to Stromness for 2 persons with a car. This will be released into competition when we have reached £200. We also have two tickets for the cinema in Thurso. Keep an eye on our Friends of the North Highland Way Facebook page for updates.

7 months agoWe are making progress... albeit slowly. We have helped out at Rosal by providing information, and now we are focussing on the section between John o Groats and Gills Bay. We will need kissing gates, or horse gates, if the equestrian community want to ride out there.

I support the idea of the only multi use route in Scotland. I lived there for 16 years. Jobs would be created, the economy would grow and most of all local people could get out and about on the route on their bikes, horses and on foot away from the traffic of NC500
