    Story

I met the man sitting on some newspapers behind a bus stop. He was weeping so I decided to approach him against common protocol and asked to hear his story. He told me he was working hard to provide for himself, more than 10 hours a day, everyday. as a pizza delivery man. Unfortunately, one night he was attacked and all the pizzas and money was stolen from him. He went back to the shop where he was working at the time to explain what had happened, but the manager didn't believe him so he fired him. He was then unable to find another job he is turned away from hostels and homeless shelters on account of his pending deportation from the UK. Now he sleeps in a park near where I first met him, which he said was OK at first in the summer, but now with temperatures plummeting to under freezing with snow every other week he wakes up shivering, blue and in a puddle of water. He said, tears rolling down his face, that when he closes his eyes, he can picture a bed and a hot shower, things that I take for granted.
The homeless culture in the UK is such that it is deemed inappropriate to approach someone on the streets in case they are dangerous and not to give anyone money because they are, "only going to use it for drugs, cigarettes and alcohol", when in fact, ahh he wants is a place to sleep for the night. A place when he can clean himself up. A place where he can eat and a place where he don't have to worry if they he wake up alive. and most importantly, he wants he's dignity, for her will not beg and did not want to accept money from me as I am a student with little to spare.

I am setting up this Fundraiser to raise £800 required to fast track his passport application so he can find a job and get these bare essentials.

I believe all people deserve respect and a helping hand. I hoping you do as well.

    Thank you
