Story
THE REASON
Simon Humphrey, Project Manager on Wates' Whitehaven Campus Project, is planning an event on the 21st July to raise funds for The Cumberland Infirmary, Specialist Bereavement Unit, in memory of his baby son Toby Lee Humphrey.
Simon will also be raising funds for Whitehaven Cricket Club.
THE EVENT
The intention is to climb Scarfell Pike (Scafell Pike is 3,281ft and is England's highest mountain - the distance is approximately 6 miles and it takes 5 hours to walk according to Trip Advisor), and Great Gable Mountains (parent peak to Scarfell, around 7 miles, taking around 5 hours to walk and rated as 'hard') in the same day in full Wates PPE on Saturday 21st July.
The site team in Whitehaven are taking part in the event and the invitation has been extended to the wider Wates business. List of people taking part is yet to be confirmed.
