Story
On the 5th December James Etherington, aged just 24, lost his battle for life following injuries sustained in a dreadful incident in Bingley some days before. James passed away peacefully surrounded by his family who loved him so very, very much.
The outpouring of love for James and support for his family has been overwhelming. So many people have been touched by this tragic loss of a young life. Not just his many, many friends, but the wider community too.
And so, with permission from his family, this fundraiser has been set up. It’s to help the family in any way possible, and to allow us to show our respect and support.
Please give whatever you’re able, in memory of James, and to help ease the financial burden at the most heartbreaking of times.
Sleep peacefully now James, in the arms of the Angels, you will never be forgotten.
Karen
The small print, sad but necessary. The fundraiser is in my name, Karen Pritchard. It has been set up with permission from Christine and Denise. It closes on the 5th January 2018 (minimum allowed by JustGiving) and within 6 - 10 working days of that date all monies raised will go into my bank account from where they will be transferred to an account of the family’s choice. Proof of the total raised will be provided to the family and posted on social media. Please note that Just Giving charge a 5% fee which is taken automatically from the total amount raised. There is also a fee per transaction for donations made in GBP via debit or credit card of 1.25% and via PayPal 1.45%. So the final amount transferred will be slightly less than that shown as donated. The family may use the money in any way they like. Please only donate if you understand and accept this.

6 years agoSuch mixed feelings posting these updates - sadness that no amount of money will change things, but gladness that so many people have donated so generously to show their love and support for James' family. The fund is now closed and the total raised an amazing £14,728.87. Sincere thanks to everyone who gave so kindly, and to all the local businesses who helped with fundraising - you've really shown what an incredible community we live in. James' family remain in our thoughts, and our love and prayers go to them.

6 years agoThe fund for James' family stands at £9,456. Truly amazing. No amount of money can compensate for his loss but I hope that this wonderful show of support from people near and far can give his family some small comfort knowing how much we all care. Thank you, thank you everyone who's donated. xx
