So, why do you care where I live?

Well, the estate I live on (in red), is around 100 houses - around the same as the number of flats inhabited in the Grenfell tower block. It is hard, looking at the charred shell of a tower block, to visualise the scale of how many peoples living space has now vanished, along with all of their personal belongings and more tragically how many lives have been lost. Parents losing children, children losing parents, whole families gone and the impact that this will have on their lives forever. The way I visualised and tried to make some sense of the impact of this, was to think of the entire estate where I live being wiped out in a matter of hours - DO THE SAME, it soon becomes very, very real.

I am horrified and saddened, as all of us are, about the tragedy of this fire and how this could happen in our society. Being 180 miles away I feel almost helpless to support - however I feel that I NEED TO DO SOMETHING to help these people, no matter how small.

Please, please help me to raise some money, that I will ensure goes to the victims of this tragedy. Donate whatever you can and if you can't donate then please just spread the word and share wherever you can on social media. I will add anything raised to one of the larger organisations, that can be trusted to make sure it is the residents that benefit from anything collected.
