Please show your support to a group of good friends undertaking the 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for a new Bereavement Suite at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

On Friday 23rd June 2017 Jonathan Townsend, Ian Burke, Jeff Powell and Lee Hopewell will commence the challenge in climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland within 24 hours: Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m), Scafell Pike, in England (978m) and Snowdon, Wales (1085m)

The Worcester Royal Maternity department have launched an appeal to raise £60,000 to both create a new Bereavement Suite, and refurbish the existing Suite- the Fay Turner Suite.

This will provide a private space for parents who have experienced the tragedy of a still birth or the loss of their baby post birth, where they can begin to grieve the loss of their baby.

In October 2016 Jonathan and his wife Joanne sadly experienced the loss of their son Sebastian at 17 weeks pregnant. The support from the Bereavement/Maternity team was fantastic yet with the Fay Turner Suite in use, Joanne had to deliver on the busy maternity ward. This supports the case to provide the amazing staff with the appropriate facilities to help grieving families even more.
