In November 2016 my family had some devastating news that my grandad whos always been fit and healthy had suffered a severe stroke that has left him unable to move walk or talk. Seeing him like he his has broken all our hearts as my grandad has always been a funny kind and caring person who would of done anything for anyone and seeing him the way he is heartbreaking. I have also lost 11 stone, 9 stone in the last 17 months and after achieving that goal i wanted to move on to my next goal of running a half marathon and by doing so I thought it would be an amazing opportunity to raise money for Gwenllian Ward (stroke unit) in Carmarthen Hospital. They have done absolutely everything they can for my grandad and he is being well looked after. And as im able to follow my dream of running a half marathon I want to do it with pride and I want to give something back to all members of staff who has been there for him since the day he went in. So please if any of you would like to donate a small donation even a £1 to this fantastic ward then please do so. Strokes happen to people of all ages and no one knows who it might happen to next.
