A group of students and teachers from Egglescliffe School are travelling to visit earthquake affected schools in Eastern Nepal.

In April 2015, our partner school Melamchi-Gyang was completely destroyed, miraculously and mercifully without loss of life. As a result of the work of Egglescliffe School and other organisations in the UK, it is great news that Melamchi continues to benefit from excellent financial and charitable support and is already seeing the result of the rebuilding effort.

And so, what started as a cultural exchange to visit our partner school has grown in to an opportunity to visit other schools in the area to raise their profiles to our communities at home and ensure they can enjoy a successful future too.

Launched in October 2016 and travelling in October 2017, we need to raise a total of £22,500. So far, we have achieved nearly £8000 - an amazing effort, but a long way to go. We will be making, baking, jumping, swimming and celebrating throughout 2017 to help reach our goal.
