On June 14th 2017, the Grenfell tower tragedy took the lives of 72 people, and affected hundreds more in the area. Like many from around the world, I was deeply shocked, saddened and troubled by the fire which had taken the lives of so many children and adults, in the supposed safety of their own homes.
The community response was amazing. Shortly after, the Kids On The Green group was set up to provide a safe space for children from the area to come. As well as play facilities, music and creative art, it is also a place for therapy, massage, reiki and other vital activities and services for the local kids.
On June 9th 2018, I will be running 100 miles across the South Downs from Winchester to Eastbourne on the SDW100. This is my first attempt at this distance, and I decided I would like to use the opportunity to raise some funds for the great Kids On The Green.
