Story
Trewirgie Junior School, was recently hit by flash floods that has seen the historic school lose lots of its traditional features which no amount of insurance money can replace. Children’s work and teachers collections are ruined with no way of replacing some of the items. The school was originally built in 1886 so has a long and proud history spanning over 130 years.
The community has been amazing in offering support and have so far raised £1240.00 in these difficult times. The parents and pupils of the school have made suggestions of fundraising to try and replace some of the books that were damaged and in doing so the school will try and create a bigger library where these can be stored safely. Of course no one can predict freak weather but at least the children will have a larger area with new books to encourage their learning.
Once the school are back settled into a routine whilst repairs are taking place the school staff and pupils will take part in fundraising events to raise money.
Your kind donations will not only help our current children at the school, but also ensure that future generations of children who attend the school will have an up to date and well stocked library to help improve their English skills, both reading and writing. It will also give the children and appreciation and understanding of how the community helped fund their space.
Thank you so much for your donation and supporting our children; it is greatly appreciated, irrespective of value, as every penny counts.
