Cwmbran PHAB meets on a Thursday at 7 o'clock at Mount Pleasant Hall
Torfaen. P H A B club has been going for over 40 years.It started because young disabled people found it hard to to access other organisations such as youth clubs
Originally called The Spastics Society in Cwmbran it then moved to Llantarnam Leisure Centre to be more community focused. This was a big success and many non-disabled youngsters soon joined.
The real meaning of PHAB was born. Making more of life together, both disabled and able bodied.
Over the past 40 years PHAB has helped young and old to achieve things they never thought they could do you. Disabled people and non-disabled people are integrating more and more and so PHAB has been a terrific success.
As national provision for disabled people has improved so the clubs are getting smaller but there are people who still need PHAB ; Those who still find it hard to integrate and so risk isolation and loneliness.
So there is still work to do and but with your support will keep going until integration is fully achieved and we can all make more of life together.
