Story
I would like to help the Kintanu village in Democratic Republic of Congo to restore a school for their children. This country, which is one of the poorest in the region, has literacy and education rates that are far below the international averages. Due to the poor state of repair of Kintanu school, it is no longer operational but if restored could accommodate up to 800 children. Children who currently have little hope of getting access to education..
A child in Africa can walk on average 13 miles a day just to receive what we would class as a very basic education. To raise money I am walking 26 miles to highlight the significance of this distance. Building a school will positively effect community resilience, whilst enabling children in the community to receive an education. My fundraising will provide the community directly with funds to enable them to start the school rehabilitation project in early 2018.
Any support for this project is much appreciated.

7 years agoHello Everyone, We completed the 26 miles yesterday, we are bruised and achy but overall we had a great time :) After 13 miles (Half way) we had an ice-cream Sundae which was needed. Thank you all so much for donating! We are past half way on the Just Giving page and outside of that we have raised even more money. There is an upcoming non-uniform day and raffle/bake sale in association with West Yorkshire Police which is really exciting. If anyone would like further updates, please get in touch :) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DONATING X
