Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
As many of you may know my little girls were born at just 28 weeks. We spent just under ten weeks in hospital in the neonatal unit that is 70 whole long days.
Our NHS recieves lots of stick and are under tremendous amounts of pressure but without their free, accesible and incredible care my girls would not be here. The Leeds neonatal department, both LGI (Leeds General Infirmary) and St James University Hospital helped us fight and survive things I could not have ever imagined.
All in all they recieved 9 blood transfusions, numerous amounts of equipment just to help them breathe and feed all the things any new mum can just take for granted. They helped them fight severe bleeds on the brain and from the heart and never gave up and lost hope, and that is why I could never ever thank them enough. The nurses became my family, they sent me videos and pictures when I finally left to go home. They comforted me and cuddled me on my bad days and celebrated with me the good. They worked their Christmas and New Year and left their families to be with mine. Aint they amazing!
It cost the NHS £1118.00 to keep a baby in neonatal for a DAY! It would have cost me £156,520.00 and that would not have included any special treatment they recieved and specialist medicines they need. This is why I want to give back as much as physically possible, I will be doing numerous things throughout the year and hopefully at Christmas 2018 I can give them this gift. No amount of money can thank them for saving my little girls lifes but it can go towards helping save another.
