Story
"It's two quid each"....
"You've got severe depression Mr Roberts". Since hearing those words in 2018, my life has never been the same. My mental health challenges come from a perfect storm of suffering from anxiety + stress = depression.
For people with mental health challenges, every day is a struggle, every set back can trigger negative emotions and it can feel like a very lonely world. For me personally, the danger of my depression beating me is real. Thoughts of suicide are common for me and thousands of other people that we live with every single day.
I am one of the lucky ones - through the support of my family & friends and professional help provided by mental health organisations; I am winning my battle with severe depression. And intend to continue to win that battle. And I am determined to do the right thing and help as many other people as I possibly can.
Through my business Enthuse, I raise awareness of Emotional Intelligence (it saved my life!) and work with individuals, teams and organisations to develop and apply their Emotional Intelligence to choose positive emotions in response to the negative challenges that the world throws at us. No matter who we are.
Since the Coronavirus crisis has struck, the need for organisations and services providing support for mental health has become even more important. That's why I want to use this time to raise awareness of the work that mental health organisations do and try to raise just a small amount to help them during and beyond this crisis.
All I am asking is for you to donate a couple of quid - "it's £2 each" - to help hit the target of £500. And if we get past that then we'll keep going. The world needs good deeds right now and providing support for people who will suffer with mental health issues long after we've defeated Coronavirus, is an opportunity to know that you are supporting your wider community.
To help bolster the donations, I am personally donating 50% of my income from any new Coaching business that I gain during April to June 2020.
The purpose of this campaign is to raise money for the Heads Together mental charity. Why am I doing it?.... because it's the right thing to do.
Why Heads Together? - because they bring together a coalition of Mental Health charities which gives us a better chance or supporting more charities and more people across the UK. Heads Together is campaigning to tackle the stigma and change the conversation on mental health and their fundraising is aimed at creating a series of innovative new mental health services.
Please donate now - "it's two quid each"......Thank You.
