Story
If you donated £1 for every bridge you crossed, how much would you donate? While we take bridges for granted, many communities live in complete isolation due to a lack of infrastructure. Please consider supporting our bridge project that will provide year round safe access to markets and farmland, increasing economic opportunity and prosperity for communities!
Engineers in Action's (EIA) mission is to work with indigenous professionals and partner organizations to improve the lives of people in need through community-inspired programs that help to build their capacity and provide sustainable solutions. At the same time, EIA strives to facilitate development of a stronger global awareness among community members and program participants, very much including university students. You can read more about the EIA bridge programme here.
At UCL, students have been involved in the design and construction of three bridges, in Panama, Rwanda, and Bolivia. In the summer of 2019, another group of students will be travelling to eSwatini (formerly Swaziland) to complete our fourth bridge! However, to make this a reality, we need support. In order to pay for the bridge materials, we need your help! Please consider donating to our cause!
