We are rowing from Aberdeen to Santa's Grotto and we need your support!

University Rowing Aberdeen (URA) are doing a SPONSORED ROW on Friday 15th December 2017 from 8am-7pm outside M&S on Union Street (St. Nicholas Shopping Centre), Aberdeen. Have been adding up the mileage we have done in training over the last couple of week, and we will have about 400km left to row on the day to reach Santa's Grotto on the North Pole, which we will complete on ergometers outside M&S.

URA is a joint partnership between Robert Gordon University Boat Club and Aberdeen University Boat Club, providing athletes of all levels, from absolute beginners to GB trialists, the opportunity to compete and participate in this great team sport, promoting student sport in general. We are raising money to purchase a coxless four (a type of boat) for University Rowing Aberdeen. We have already received some funding for this piece of equipment, however, we have not quite hit our target yet. The purchase of this boat would greatly support the development of the URA project and benefit our athletes immensely, so any donation are greatly appreciated!

If that isn't reason enough, we will also be giving 20% of total funds raised to two local Aberdeen charities each receiving 10%: Cash For Kids (Northsound 1 Mission Christmas Appeal) and Dates-n-Mates Aberdeen.

Dates n Mates Aberdeen offers a platform for adults with learning disabilities to develop the confidence to form meaningful friendships and relationships by organising social events, supporting first dates and offering training.
