Story
After the success of last years event. The University of Portsmouth Men's Football Club will be sleeping rough for the second year in a row to help raise awareness and money for the large homeless community in the Portsmouth area and the south east.
This year we are delighted to be joined by the University of Portsmouth Womens football club and we will be spending a night sleeping rough in order to raise money for Victory Hants homeless charity and The Roberts Centre with 50% of the money raised going to each charity. We will be sleeping outside on the 18th March.
Homelessness is devastating, and dangerous, and yet in the UK it is something that is so common - everyday more and more people become homeless. On any given night in 2016, 4,134 people slept rough across England, which was more than double the amount in 2010. Every year, these figures seem to increase, and we feel that this just isn’t good enough - something needs to be done.
Donations of any size are welcome.
Thank you.
