    Story

This expedition involves everything I am interested in. Part one, the community part. I do often take my life and everything I have for granted, my mum certainly reminds me from time to time. We think that good schools, decent house, a warm bed, doctors when we need them, ... is just the way it is. But as I have realised more and more, this is not the case. There are people that don't have sufficient housing, no decent food, no access to any medical help, no toys, hobbies, ... which is I am looking forward to actually help these people, I realise only in a small way, but if many of us are realising this and actually actively help, this can go a long way.

Part two is the environment part, included the conservation part really. Again, we take so much for granted, like I can just turn the tap on and have a glass of clean water, I can take showers and baths, we have good toilets. We also have community centre, schools, sports clubs, which are all doing the job, but in Uganda a school coudl be just the one room, not always safe, without any luxuries, sometimes not even a simple black board. So in helping to build safe buildings, adequate housing or even a decent toilet block could mean all the difference for them. Conservation is to keep the natural beauty and its wildlife in order - projects where animals are protected against poachers and extinction and to provide a safe environment for people.

Last part of the expedition is the educational part. Not alone it will enable me to gain UCAS point for later in life, it would be really great to teach English to the local children, so that will increase their knowledge! As this project works together with the school I go to, I am able to make a difference with my friends at the same time.

And the final part is that I really would like to make a difference, even if it's just for 1 month!!
