We are seeking assistance in covering costs of purchasing cancer treatment medication for Adriana Lewis (Miguel Lewis mother) who lives in Venezuela. Miguel is unable to bring his mother to the UK for treatment due to visa restrictions and the NHS will not fund the treatment in the UK due to her being a Venezuelan citizen. The intensive cancer treatment for Adriana to treat the stage 3 Hodgkin lymphoma cannot be found in Venezuela due to the current dictatorship and break down of all social assistance and medical care in the country. Miguel is therefore trying to source the medication from abroad to transport via couriers to Venezuela in order for his mother to receive treatment in the hospital in Venezuela.

We have sought assistance from the Central Bedfordshire MP in the UK and they have been very helpful but also very honest. For any VISA application for a family visa could take over 6 months. Unfortunately waiting 6 months with such a cancer would not be an option. Hence sourcing the medication from abroad and paying full price. This makes us all realise how lucky we are to have an NHS to cover the costs.

Adriana has spent most of her life as a surgeon in Venezuela saving lives of young children. We want to do all we can to help her in her hour of need, now. Its unfortunately the currency in Venezuela is so poor that she cannot afford the costs of purchasing the medication abroad herself. Any help you can give us and her for this cause in order to give Adrian the best fighting chance to beat this cancer would be greatly appreciated. However small the gesture is, we would forever be greatfull.
