Story
I visited this tiny community on the south west coast of Madagascar last year. The Vezo people are subsistence fishermen .
I filmed with them for a week. The most generous, kind, giving people i have visisted .
Their school hut had blown down the previous year and the teacher left.
The children were so gentle and eager to learn.
the cost of a new school house and teachers house was so little , that i felt we had to try .and help
In our first push we amazingly raised enough money for the school, which we have built. Now we are looking to build the teachers hut and their wages for the first three years .
the school now supoorts over 200 children !!! Lets keep going. .we need to raise money for more aupplies and anoyher classroom. Thank you so much x

3 years agohey guys, well that period on just giving has ended and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who donated . as im sure you know . we are currently building our second and third classrooms and we now support over 200 children with three teachers. our journey continues .. thank you thank you

3 years agoI gave a talk at ashburton arts centre last week and we able to raise a further £500 for the school . I am hugely grateful to all who came and donated .thank you !!!

3 years agoWe have just heard from the school after months of worry and no communication. Thank goodness everyone is well and safe . It seems the pandemic hasn’t affected the area too badly. The great news is we now have 4 teachers !!!!! Yes and over 200 children. It is staggering and incredible . There are blackboards and some footballs and books. To support this many children we need to build two more classrooms so the children dont have to come in shifts .!!! So this is our push for the year ... Huge thanks to all who have helped and keep going xxx
