Bethany has been a VGA member for the past 5 years and has achieved outstanding things in her gymnastics career so far. Bethany has cognitive and learning difficulties which means that things are not always straightforward for her. However, Bethany works hard as part of our mainstream squad as well as in her disability sessions and has been crown both Welsh and British Champion in the last two years. 2017 was very special for Bethany - she competed in the Special Olympics UK Games and she won gold medals on every piece of apparatus as well as in the All Around competition (where the scores for all 4 apparatus are added together). As a result of this outstanding result, Bethany has been selected to compete in the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in summer 2019. Bethany is currently working hard for this, attending a number of UK training camps across the UK. At the start of the year Bethany was the winner of the South Wales Argus Disabled Sports Person of the Year for 2017.

Bethany is a very special young lady. She is also a Young Leader within the club - she volunteers twice each week and supports young gymnasts (age 4-6) in their gymnastics classes.
