Story
Vets in the Community is a project set up in 2012 to provide free veterinary care to pets belonging to the homeless and vulnerably housed people of Nottingham.
The clinics are led by students at the Vet School, under supervision from experienced, qualified members of staff. We provide health checks, vaccinations, micro-chipping as well as treatment for fleas, worms and minor ailments. This is only made possible by donations and support from our many lovely sponsors.
To date we have run over 700 consultations for dogs, cats and rabbits, and even a ferret. Our clinic is becoming more and more popular with each month and our clientele is fast expanding.
Every year we gather as many volunteers as possible and ask them to raise money by running the Robin Hood half marathon (or full marathon if they're feeling brave!). Last year we raised an amazing £2715! Please use this page to support our runners.
A £5 donation will worm a dog for half a year or provide flea treatment for a month.
A £10 donation will provide pain relief, ear and eye drops and antibiotics.
A £15 donation will allow us to microchip a pet - which is now a legal requirement of dogs in the UK!
Vets in the Community thank you wholeheartedly for every donation made.
