Following our recent break in at the chapel we have been made to reconsider the security and safety of the building. As you know the building is used regularly for Community groups and events and has become a core part of the life of Llanhilleth and surrounding areas.

Our Community work with all ages has made a large difference to the lives of many. Our Dementia Friendly and Living Alone Group is a now attended on a monthly basis by over 25 people, whilst our Intergenerational Craft Group sees over 20 children working alongside adults to learn new skills. We also work with Barnados to provide a Youth Club for teenagers and also with WEA to provide various courses for all ages. This work is a vital part of the Chapel and enables us to assist in the regeneration of the village, a village we are proud to serve. Our work was noticed last year as we won a National Award.

Unfortunately, over the past years we have been the target of vandalism and break ins, where the chapel has seen items stolen and damage to the fabric of the building undertaken. This is very distressing for us as you can imagine, as all the work we do is undertaken by dedicated members and volunteers. To help combat this we have decided to try and raise the money to install security on the Chapel.. Of course this all comes at a cost which we will need to fundraise.

To this end we ask whether you could help us with a donation towards the £1746.46 that we have been quoted for this work.
