Story
Each year Amnesty International holds Write for Rights, an event for groups and individuals whose human rights are under threat.
Messages of solidarity to those who need it most can - and do - provide comfort and hope.
Messages asking authorities to act ethically and responsibly can - and do - work.
This year, as part of Amnesty International's Write for Right Campaign we want to set up a local event in New Mills where you can come in, have a cup of coffee and write a message to someone, somewhere in the world, who needs to hear your words. But we can't do it without your help.
Our deadline is the 10th December - Human Rights Day, so give whatever you can. Funds will go towards things like venue hire, coffee, tea and postage. Any extra we haven't spent will go direct to charity.
The pen is mighty. To find out how writing a message can help save a life, go to: https://www.amnesty.org.uk/write-for-rights.
Thank you :-)
