I became aware of this man's plight from Annette and Ellen, my wife and daughter, delivering him a Chistmas box for the last few years and since then a sleeping bag.

He worked in the construction industry but lost his job due to his epilepsy. He also has to go to hospital for kidney dialysis. No job meant he lost his accommodation and now sleeps in Iver train station because it gives him a bit of shelter.

The government wont help him unless he is a British citizen, has an address, for which he needs a deposit, and a bank account.

He is a lovely man if you bother to speak to him. The only hostel where can stay is in Watford and they require him out by 6am. He has to get there and back if he is lucky enough to raise the £12 a night the hostel charge. Otherwise he is out on the street.

This just isn't right .

I am asking for no presents at Christmas this year, instead a donation so we can get him his citizenship and a deposit on a room so he can get himself a job, a bank account and a second chance at life.

I ask you make a donation that is in the spirit of giving at Christmas, instead of another useless present we dont need.

I have started off by donating what I would have spent on Annette. (Annette does all our other Christmas shopping and I just nod when the recipient says thanks as I have no idea what she bought them.
