Work has begun, albeit slowly. I can hear the boys saying that if they discover oil or diamonds instead of water, they will be very happy!

My name is Wasiu Ayobami Alatise. I moved to the UK from Nigeria in 2009 and work at Balham Leisure Centre as a Fitness instructor / Personal Trainer and also work as a Sport Massage Therapist.

I would like your help and support to RAISE £3,000 which will used to build a WATER WELL ( BORE HOLE ) in my mother’s village and in her memory.

I am personally contributing £500 and hope to reach my target with your help. I would greatly appreciate any donations, NO MATTER how large or small, to help me towards this GOAL.

I am from IBADAN ( OYO STATE NIGERIA). I personally understand very well the stress that the people of my village go through in order to get WATER as they have to walk several miles there and back in order to bring back only as much as they can carry.

Back in the 1980s, when I was young and living with my mother, I would have to fetch 2 drums of water in the morning before going to school because my mother was busy in her shop where she sold food. 

I feel so sad for the people of my village every time I visit them on holiday. They still have to fetch water as I did 30 years ago and the Nigerian government doesn't fund projects like this.

This is such an important project to me and I will never forget this for the rest of my life and my mother will be smiling in heaven.
