Story
Jacqui Mansford is a loving mother and grandmother and has always been there; not only for her family but for everyone around her - she's just one of those people who can't help wanting to help. Now, it's Jacqui who needs our help for a change, and we're asking for some of yours too. In February, Wayne Mansford and his family received the news that his mum had a form of cancer in her small bowel. Not only that, but it had also spread to the liver. It's called an NET, and it's quite a rare form of cancer. Despite over a decade of showing all the classic symptoms, she was being treated for IBS instead, because that's the more common condition. However, by the time the Cancer was Diagnosed, it had become so advanced that it's now incurable.
Below is a few words from Wayne and Natalie Mansford:
"Incurable". It's so hard to write that word about Mum, who's always been so full of energy and life that she's almost seemed bulletproof. But, incurable doesn't mean terminal. With the right treatment, Mum's condition can be managed to prolong her life-span. Every extra second we can spend with our mum is priceless and we want to share every moment we can with her. Mum is undergoing an internal radiation treatment called SIRT. It's painful, and it's making her feel sick and weak, but it will shrink the cancer.
Until very recently, SIRT was available on the NHS. Unfortunately for us, Mum's diagnosis didn't come in time. Thankfully though we have an amazing family and everybody has done what they can - thank you one and all. Now, with your help we're hoping we can raise the rest of the money that Mum needs, while also doing what we can to help others in the same position. We'd like to use 80% of the donations to fund mum's treatment and the other 20% we want to give to the NET Patient Foundation which runs awareness campaigns aiming to encourage medical professionals to consider uncommon alternatives when making a diagnosis. https://www.netpatientfoundation.org/

Jacqui Mansford has a rare form of cancer in her small bowel that has spread to her liver. It's rare form of cancer which can often go undiagnosed. It was only after doing a proper scan that the doctors eventually found the cancer, which is so advanced that it's now incurable.
