A close friend of mine had been planning a weekend away with his partner for many months. He has not been able to go anywhere in recent times due to financial constraints however he eventually saved up and booked a long weekend away in Malta.

He set off for Manchester airport however he got stuck on the M62 due to severe weather he was stuck for 12 hours the motor way was closed and he had to pay for 2 nights in a hotel until it was re opened.

So all in all he spend just over £700.00 and never even left the country he has been told he cant get his money back as the flights wernt cancelled he just missed them (through no fault of his own)

I just wanted to do this to try help him recoup some of his money as i really do think the situation is unfair.
