Story
About this campaign: RBC’s 2035 Local Plan proposes devastating mass housing development to be concentrated in some of the most rural and green belt protected land around our village, with proposed ingress into Green Belt land of 174 hectares.
The Virginia Water and Foxhills wards are situated on the borders of Runnymede, Surrey Heath and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead so locally this is not just an issue about a further 2000 prospective new homes at Longcross on top of those already being built, but that combined with other proposals add a total of around 10,000 additional homes within a ±5 miles radius of Virginia Water. The pressure on our local infrastructure would be untenable.
We have engaged planning consultants and lawyers to help us minimise any negative impact to our village. This will be a long process, which is likely to continue for years and needs a sustained effort and funding.

Please support this cause in every way you can. We need to look after our planet. The answer isn't to build more and more houses, overcrowd our trains, or destroy our countryside.

It is important to stop these developments to protect the Green belt around Virginia Water and also prevent further overloading of already congested roads and other infrastructure facilities.

This is largely about supplying homes for new commuters. London continues to grow but cannot accommodate it's ever-increasing workforce. Support all campaigns like this in Surrey and Berks.
