    Story

We work for a charity called West Norfolk Carers which offers help to unpaid carers of all ages, relief from their overwhelming feelings of loneliness, responsibility and helplessness by providing professional support and advice to help overcome the emotional, financial and physical challenges presented by their caring role.

We have decided to climb Scaffell Pike (the highest peak in England at 978m above sea level) in the hope people will sponsor us and help us raise funds for a worthy charity.

We will travel to Cumbria on the 28th July and providing the weather co-operates climb the mountain on 29th July.

Sue's bucket list item is to climb the 4 highest peaks in Great Britain before she is 60. At 50 she conquered Snowdon, 55 Ben Nevis and this June she plans to climb Slieve Donard the highest peak in Northern Ireland.

Provided she makes it to the top and back in one piece Scaffell Pike will be the finale before her 60th birthday in October.

Sally has never climbed a mountain and hates exercise (if she makes it to the top it may be a miracle!).

We plan to have our photograph taking proudly displaying our West Norfolk Carers flag at the summit.

Watch this space and please help us to support West Norfolk Carers with your sponsors.

I have purchased my walking shoes and decided to wear them between now and the climb to break them in. This was definitely a wise move as my feet are sore already!

After getting on my exercise bike last night I have decided to start at 10 minutes and work my way up to 30 mins by next week! I think I might start putting a bit more effort into preparing for this or I might actually die!!!

Well my "training" has begun. I have decided that with 3 weeks to go I should at least make an effort! So my plan is.... 10,000 steps a day and 30 mins a night on the exercise bike. Hopefully that will be enough to get me up and down without serious harm! I am in fact so dedicated that I even did 10 mins of step ups during a quite period at a drop-in at a surgery today!
