Weymouth Cougars YFC is a long established youth football club that has provided opportunities for young players for 25 years. We are a non profit organisation with a dedicated group of volunteers that give up their free time to make it possible to provide opportunities to young players to be part of the game and lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
We cater for boys and girls from the age of 4 years to U16 and beyond. We rely solely on donations and fundraising to keep the club going. Weymouth Cougars YFC believe that every child from every background should have the chance to be involved in football, whether they fancy just having a go or are passionate about it. Therefore, we pride ourselves at keeping it affordable for all to make this possible.
Unfortunately due to government cut backs our home grounds and training areas are at risk. We are trying as a club to take over the maintenance and management of the Marsh playing fields in Weymouth to avoid losing this area. "The Marsh" is our home and also used by many other local football teams and other sports clubs providing young children opportunities within the area.
With this comes a huge cost to the club. Overheads would definitely increase to cover the grounds and facilities and the cost to upkeep The Marsh area are just a few to mention. Without The Marsh the club would be forced to locate different areas and unfortunately there aren't enough to go around.
Funds raised would support this and also the running of the club by supplying equipment for the children and facilities for them to use, kits etc.
We are fundraising as a club but would appreciate any kind donations from anyone willing to help. We are a registered charity and a non profit organisation, every penny or pound helps!
Please help us save The Marsh football pitches and keep this sports facility available for all, but especially our young people of today and the future!
