Story
Weymouth FC - Youth are a self funded youth football club who provide fun, safe footballing experiences for children in the local and surrounding areas of Weymouth from Under 6 through to Under 16 where they then have the opportunity to progress to our parent club Weymouth FC.
Our club is run entirely by volunteers who donate their time to the club whether it be dealing with administration, ensuring the welfare of the children, coaching or managing teams, managing the financial side of the club, liasing with the Dorset FA and Dorset Youth Football League etc. Without these volunteers running the club would be impossible.
Every penny raised goes into the childrens football.
We try to continously fundraise to contribute to as much of every teams costs so we don't have to charge parents large amounts of money or reduce the quality of their equipment or experience, as our only continual source of funding is through charging the children minimal weekly/monthly subs.
Things like paying for home pitches, kits, providing some equipment, contributing or paying for courses for our staff to improve and update their football qualifications are all essential - and we like to contribute as much as we can to each team to help them do this. We, of course, try to fundraise as much money towards this as we can by doing things such as hosting a local youth tournament in the summer and this year we have several plans to try and fundraise money for the club which we hope will be very successful.
This year we were lucky enough to have the parent club fundraise for us to raise enough money to buy approx 120 kits for our existing teams which was fantastic. They also offer us the use of their facilities which is how we hope to raise money ourselves this year by hosting events there.
However with increasing popularity in the club (which is fanastic and exciting!)and more children wanting to be part of it, we will need to fundraise more to keep giving to the children involved.
Therefore we have set up this fundraising page to collect any donations from anyone who wishes to contribute to the youth section and help us to keep providing our players with some of the best experiences of their childhood!
We are extremely greatful for any donation you may be able to give no matter the amount - if you use social media please feel free to find us on Facebook -@weymouthyouthofficial where we would love to keep you up to date with where all our fundraised monies are spent.
Thank you from all at Weymouth FC - Youth!
